ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

An Allentown man is facing charges after police say he bit off a piece of his ex-girlfriend's arm, police said.

Police responded to a report of a domestic assault around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Greenleaf Street.

The woman told police she went to leave her home earlier in the day and her ex-boyfriend, 31-year-old Michael Brandon Velilla asked where she was going. She told him it was none of his business and walked out of the house, and he followed her outside, screaming at her, threatening to beat her up if she leaves.

While walking back, he pushed her into two cars, keeping her pinned between them, police said, and the woman said he kept trying to head butt her. She also said she punched him in the face to get him off her, and at that point, neighbors came out and grabbed him off her.

While people were grabbing him, he bit a chunk of skin off her right forearm, police said.

Velilla faces charges of simple assault and harassment.

He posted $5,000 bail.
