Micbael Boyle, William Parr charged with running meth lab
A traffic stop in Monroe County led officials to two men, who are now charged with running a methamphetamines lab.
State police said they saw a Dodge Neon with Delaware plates make a U-turn in front of them, then sped up when police pursued them.
The chase took place around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday on Route 447 near Franklin Hill Road in East Stroudsburg, Monroe Co.
When the car came to a stop, the driver and the front seat passenger both fled on foot, police said, but were apprehended.
The passenger, 37-year-old William Peter Parr of 6225 Forest Lane, East Stroudsburg, told police that the driver ran because he was in possession of a meth lab.
The driver, 41-year-old Michael Robert Boyle of Brodheadsville, was found to have a black-colored vial which contained suspected cocaine in his pocket, police said.
While interviewing Boyle, police said he told them there was a bag of drugs in the car, and that he had injested cocaine about two hours before driving.
Police found a tan-colored bag containing suspected methamphetamine-making material in the front seat of the car, as well as a glass pipe commonly used to inject narcotics.
Boyle was charged with violating the controlled substance, drug, device and cosmetic act, driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance, fleeing or attempting to elude police officer, and related charges.
Parr is facing charges of violating the controlled substance, drug, device and cosmetic act.
