Man with marijuana cigar was watching two children

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

Bethlehem police have arrested an Allentown man they observed with a marijuana cigar while watching two children.

Twenty-seven-year-old James Jordan-Waiters of Allentown fled with a one-year-old boy in his arms when police approached him in the 600 block of Ontario Street at 1:23 p.m. Friday.

Because of the child, police did not chase him. When he ran, he left behind a five-year-old girl.

Jordan-Waiters was located and taken into custody a short time later. The one-year-old was with him and unharmed.

He was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and endangering the welfare of children.

The mother of the children was contacted and took custody of them.

Jodan-Waiters resides in the 200 block of N. Boyer St. in Allentown.
