BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

A man who sold a motorcycle he stole from a garage in Bethlehem two months ago is having to shift gears after being caught.

Raymond F. Murtz was arrested Tuesday, about six weeks after Jason Folio was stopped on Sept. 5 in Monroe County driving a stolen 2001 Suzuki GSR Murtz had sold to him in Bethlehem, officials said.

Court papers do not say how much Folio paid Murtz for the motorcycle.

Folio identified Murtz from a photo lineup he was shown while he was being interviewed in the Monroe County Prison, officials noted.

Police also identified Murtz by using a latent fingerprint left at a rented garage at the rear of 58 West Union Blvd., Bethlehem, where the motorcycle owned by Hector Negron was being stored, officials said.

Negron told police on Aug. 29 that he had last seen his bike in the garage two days earlier, officials said, adding that investigators found pry marks on a dead bolt on a side door of the garage and the latent fingerprint on a door handle.

Murtz, 36, of West Union Blvd., Bethlehem, was arraigned Wednesday on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft and receiving stolen property and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $15,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 30.
