BETHLEHEM TWP., Pa. -

A man sent the mother of his children dozens of menacing emails over a two-hour period and tried to kick in the door of her home, officials said.

Devin R. Jay was stopped while driving his black Oldsmobile under the influence around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in Bethlehem Township, Northampton County, after he had sent his ex-girlfriend more than 75 threatening emails between 6 and 8 p.m. and tried to kick in the front door of her home in the 4000 block of Oakland Road, officials said.

One of Jay's emails read "I'm strapped" and another "Kill everyone," officials said.

Jay is on probation for DUI in Northampton County and was not supposed to be drinking or driving, officials said.

When police reached Jay by phone before he was stopped, Jay denied he had been on his ex-girlfriend's property and told them he was driving a black Maserati, not a black Olds, officials noted.

Jay, 27, of 3851 Brandeis Ave., Bethlehem Township, was arraigned on charges of making terroristic threats and harassment and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $15,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Sept. 12.
