Man robs neighbor twice, makes off with $11K in jewelry, cash

UPPER MOUNT BETHEL TWP., Pa. -

A 20-year-old Northampton County man is facing charges he broke into his next door neighbor's house twice in 4 months.

Police said Zachary William Belverio broke into a home in the 2200 block of N. Delaware Drive in Upper Mount Bethel Twp. during the first week of May, 2013, and again on Sept. 17, 2013.

The victims were not at home during either robbery.

Jewelry and cash were stolen in each of the robberies, for a total value of $11,000.

Belverio was charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal trespass and criminal mischief.

He was taken into custody on Thursday and committed to the Northampton County Prison under $40,000 bail.
