TOBYHANNA TWP., Pa. -

A Monroe County man was injured during a home invasion early Thursday, and police say they don't think it was a random attack.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police said a 40-year-old man was sitting at his dining room table around 12:20 a.m. when two unknown suspects came into the house in the 9600 block of Stoney Hollow Circle, Tobyhanna Twp., through an unlocked back door.

The man was pushed to the floor, beaten and threatened with a knife, police said, but the attackers fled when the victim fought back.

One ran out the back door. The other attacker ran upstairs and barricaded himself inside a bedroom, police said, but jumped out the second story window before police arrived.

Police said this home was specifically targeted and the attack does not appear to be random.

Officers said there was evidence the attack was drug-related. The investigation is continuing.

The victim sustained minor injuries.
