WASHINGTON TWP.,Pa. -

State police have released the name of a New York City man who was killed in a bizarre and terrifying wreck on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Lehigh County.

The accident happened around 9:25 a.m. Saturday on the northbound side of the Northeast Extension in Washington Township, at mile marker 70.

Jack Kodesh, 35, was killed after a deer crashed through the windshield of his car and wound up in the back seat.

Police say the vehicle then crashed into the center concrete barrier before crossing onto a grass embankment, jumping over a fence and landing in a wooded area.

Police say Kodesh was pronounced dead after being transported to Palmerton Hospital.
