LOWER NAZARETH TWP., Pa. -

A man is facing charges for shoplifting electronic gear three times from the same shopping area in September, officials said.

Gerald T. Bennett was stopped by Easton police on Sept. 28, shortly after he had boarded a LANTA bus with a 32-inch Vizio TV worth $248 and a $698 Dell Inspiron 660 desktop computer that he stole from the Walmart at 3722 Easton Nazareth Highway, Lower Nazareth Township, Northampton Co., around 8:30 a.m., officials said.

Easton police arrested Bennett on an unrelated charge, they pointed out.

The following day, Walmart security confirmed the TV and computer Bennett had at the time of his arrest were stolen, and on Oct. 8, a security official tied Bennett to another shoplifting incident on Sept. 16, when a man walked out around 11 a.m. with another 32-inch Vizio TV worth $378, officials said.

Bennett was accompanied by a female on Sept. 16, and she drove the car that Bennett put the stolen TV into, officials noted.

After his arrest, Bennett was also charged with stealing 21 DVDs worth $891.46 from the nearby Sam's Club store at 3796 Easton Nazareth Highway, Lower Nazareth Township, around 11 a.m. Sept. 27, officials said.

Bennett, 44, who already is in the Northampton County Prison, was arraigned Monday morning on charges of felony retail theft, because of two previous shoplifting convictions, and receiving stolen property for the Sept. 16 and 28 incidents, with bail set at $10,000, according to court documents..

Bennett is facing the same charges and bail for the Sept. 27 incident, court papers show.

A preliminary hearing on all charges is set for 11 a.m. Nov. 13.
