Bethlehem woman fights back against intruder, police say

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

An Allentown man is facing numerous charges after police say he broke into a woman's apartment and hit her on the head.

The incident happened around 3:40 a.m. Sunday when 25-year-old Ricky Rose of 2633 Arch Street entered an elderly woman's apartment at 1345 Martin Court in Bethlehem, police said.

The elderly woman confronted Rose when he forced open the apartment's sliding glass door and hit him with her cane, police said. He responded by hitting her on the side of her head, which caused her to fall.

She suffered a large protrusion on her head, police siad.

Police arrested Rose and took him to the Lehigh County Prison but was able to post bail.

He's being charged with criminal trespassing, public drunkenness, harassment, disorderly conduct and simple assault.
