Man arrested after police say he pointed gun at women

A Phillipsburg man is behind bars for allegedly pointing a gun at two women and then leaving the weapon inside a bar bathroom in Easton.

EASTON, Pa. -

A New Jersey man is facing charges after an incident Sunday night with a gun in a bar.

Easton Police said Kenneth Thompson, of the 200 block of Washington Street in Phillipsburg, pointed a gun at two women in the 1000 block of Butler Street.

The incident happened around 6 p.m.

The women told police the man was in Louie's Bar at 1031 Butler Street.

Police entered the bar and found Thompson, who matched the description given by the women.

When 35-year-old Thompson saw police, they said he reached for his waist, turned away, and stepped into a single bathroom.

Police found a handgun in the bathroom garbage can.

Thompson was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a license, a felon not to possess a firearm and making terroristic threats.

He was taken to the Northampton County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
