A man was arrested Thursday for allegedly threatening to shoot a doctor at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bern Township.

BERN TWP., Pa. -

A man was arrested Thursday for allegedly threatening to shoot a doctor at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bern Twp., Berks Co.

Police were dispatched to the hospital around 9:30 a.m. for the report of a man, identified as Richard DeLong, upset about medical care he previously received.

DeLong claimed a particular doctor took years off his life by causing him to suffer a stroke.

DeLong, 79, was at the hospital receiving unrelated treatment at the time he asked for the doctor by name, telling a receptionist he had lots of guns and was going to shoot the doctor, police said.

Responding officers said they found DeLong had no guns on his person. He was charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.
