Police have identified the man who was found shot to death in northwest Reading early Wednesday morning.
Yamil Lozada Acasio, 36, was hit multiple times by gunfire, police said. His body was found on the grounds of a self-storage facility in the 400 block of Blair Avenue.
Acasio lived in the 600 block of Schuylkill Avenue in Reading with his ex-girlfriend.
"He's missed, very missed," said Rosa Agusto, the victim's ex-girlfriend.
Acasio had been on parole, and his ex-girlfriend said he had just landed a job, Monday, at a metal factory.
Augusto said she doesn't know why anyone would want to kill Acasio.
"He was a nice person," Agusto said. "He did what he had to do to survive. Everybody loved him."
All of Acasio's family lives in Puerto Rico, but Augusto says she will be waiting for justice for Acasio.
"That should have never have happened to him."
An autopsy report is currently being prepared, and that should give police a better idea of when Acasio died, officials said.
So far, investigators have no suspects in the homicide.
Anyone with information that can help catch the killer is asked to call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913.
A cash reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest
