Some local Syrian Americans say they're not convinced Bashar Assad's regime is responsible for the attacks.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

Some local Syrian Americans say they're not convinced Bashar Assad's regime is responsible for recent chemical attacks against Syrian citizens.

Lehigh Valley resident Tarek Yacoub says Syrians are being showered with propaganda following the attack.

Many Syrians in the Lehigh Valley are Christian Syrians who generally support Assad.

Still Yacoub says it doesn't make sense that the Syrian government would use chemical weapons against its own people when the world is watching.

"There is no clear evidence or clear videos what is going on on my side, I don't think the government has anything to do with that," said Tarek Yacoub.

Tuesday night in Allentown a group of protestors were seen rallying against US involvement in Syria.

Protestors there disagreed with the chemical weapons allegations.

They say the US should support the existing Syrian government.
