Wilson police: Men rob bar, patrons at gunpoint

The night after Halloween turned downright frightening at a Northampton County bar. Wilson police said two men barged in with guns and demanded everyone's money during a Friday night robbery.
Both suspects are still on the loose.
The Lancer Hotel is the kind of neighborhood watering hole where literally everybody knows your name.
"It's been there a real long time," said Wilson Police Detective Marc Crisafulli.
Which is why investigators can't understand why two brazen bandits targeted the bar. Just before 11 p.m. Friday, the owner said two men in ski masks ran inside and ordered about six customers on the ground at gunpoint. The men took almost everyone's money and jewelry.
"We're very fortunate that there were no injuries," said Crisafulli.
One customer tried to fight the robbers. Police are now asking him to come forward, hoping he might be able to give them a better suspect description.
The two suspects looked very different. Police said one was a husky black man, about 6'1", wearing an Oakland As baseball cap. The other was skinny -- and short -- only about 5'7". No clothing description was available for either man.
"One was a heavier-set built, and the other one was shorter with a thin build," said Crisafulli.
The bar didn't have security cameras. In this quiet, small town, the owner said she never thought she'd need them. She spent Saturday installing them.
"It could have helped us out," said Crisafulli. "The security cam would definitely help us out, possibly in identifying them or seeing the clothing that they're wearing."
Police said he deviant duo may have fled up South 16th Street. The borough's closest surveillance camera is at 17th and Washington. Police are reviewing that footage now.
Crisfalli said Wilson has not seen a recent spike in crime before this robbery.
"This doesn't happen too often, but it's not to say it can't happen," he said.
