CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -

An unspecified number of residents in the Center Valley area woke up this morning with no water service as a result of a water main break in the Bethlehem Water Authority system. Officials say they started to re-pressurize the water system this morning, and a boil water advisory is in effect until further notice.

The outage was caused by a water main break reported around 8 p.m. Saturday.

A residential customer of the authority who lives in Center Valley told 69 News he still had no water service as of 7:30 a.m. Sunday. That's around the time officials said they were beginning to re-pressurize the system.

The Bethlehem Water Authority provides service to the city and surrounding area, including Center Valley.

Officials say the water main break occurred within the city's system in Lower Saucon Township.
