Police are investigating two separate shooting incidents in Allentown that occurred Tuesday night.

In the first, a man was walking his dog in the 600 block of Emery Street around 8:50 p.m. when two loose pit bulls came running up to the man and his dog, police said.

The man was able to make it back to the gate of his home and got his dog safely inside the yard, police said, but the two dogs began attacking the man.

The victim pulled out a revolver and shot one of the dogs, and the other dog ran off, according to police.

The dogs' owner took the injured dog to the vet, where it died.

Police said the man had a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon and there will be no charges filed because he was protecting himself.

The second incident happened around 10 p.m. in the 700 block of Fifth Street.

Police said a domestic disturbance was going on at the residence, and a man fired shots at a vehicle carrying three people, one believed to be the man's girlfriend.

The man, identified as 53-year-old Gregory Price of Drexel Hill,Delaware Co.,  told police he was trying to shoot at the tires as the car drove away, but none of the shots appeared to have hit the car.

Police arrested Price and charged him with three counts of recklessly endangering another person and one count of simple assault.

He's at the Lehigh County Prison on $15,000 bail.
