Car hits trooper, pedestrian

LOWER SAUCON TWP., Pa. -

A state trooper and a pedestrian were taken to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle on the Route 33 ramp to I-78 Sunday morning.

Police say it happened around 8:30 a.m. when a state trooper was at the scene of a crash at the Route 33 South ramp to I-78 West.

While the trooper was interviewing an eyewitness in a grassy area just off the highway, another crash happened, causing a vehicle to hit the officer and one pedestrian, according to state police in Belfast.

Police say the officer and pedestrian were treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.

State police say they are still working to determine what caused the pair of crashes.
