Sex charges against police dispatcher

A former civilian dispatcher at the Pennsylvania State Police Lehighton barracks has been arrested for allegedly sharing child pornography over the Internet.

Tyler Lee Graumenz, 23, of the 3000 block of South Second Street in Whitehall Township, has been charged with sexual abuse of children under the state's child pornography law, criminal use of a communication facility and sending/receiving obscene materials through a computer.

Graumenz worked at the State Police Lehighton barracks from March until Aug. 13, when he was discharged, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.

He was scheduled to have been arraigned Friday night.

According to the criminal complaint, an Allentown police officer uncovered the alleged crime while conducting an investigation of computers whose users were sharing images of child sexual assaults on the Internet.

One of the files traced to Graumenz's computer depicted a girl, who was 9 years old or younger, engaging in a sexual act with an adult male, according to the district attorney's office.

On Aug. 13, authorities conducted a consented search of Graumenz's home, where they found a computer file of child pornography, according to the district attorney's office.
