That drink that gives you wings will once again be landing in the city of Easton, but this time, it will be leaving the snow behind.
Red Bull has already sponsored two snowboarding events in Centre Square. The company finished that tour, but now it is giving skateboarders a chance to take over.
Centre Square will become a big skate park on Sept. 14.
"From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Drinky's Downtown Jam, which will be a skateboarding event that also does have as one of our sponsors, Red Bull," said Mayor Sal Panto.
Over the last three years, Drinky's has sponsored the Red Bull Buttercup in Easton, but once that tour ended, the establishment still wanted a way to showcase the city.
They are also bringing in a skateboarding pro and Kutztown native, Matt Lindenmuth.
"He's a local skateboarder best known as being the first of all professional sports to do a double lindy," said Tommy Urglavitch, general manager for Drinky's Pub. "A double backflip off of a vert ramp."
Lindenmuth has agreed to bring some of his friends to the event, and there will be other stations set up for all ages.
Panto said this is a good partnership between business owners and the city because it gets more people to explore downtown Easton.
"This will bring down a whole generation of people that may have never been downtown," said Panto. "And then when they see some of the places, they'll say let's go down here. Let's go down there."
The free skate event will be Sept. 14 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. There's no registration fee to skate.
