Police: student threw knives, rolling pins at principal

HELLERTOWN, Pa. -

A Saucon Valley High School student is facing a list of charges after police said she assaulted and threw knives at the principal, and caused hundreds of dollars worth of damage.

Police said they were called to the school in Hellertown Friday morning for a report of a student who had left the building and became violent upon reentering.

Officials said the 17-year-old female student punched and kicked the principal and threw several items at him, including pen knives, scratch knives, rolling pins and pieces of broken glass.

Police said the student caused damage in the range of $845 to $1,330.

The student has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, disorderly contact, criminal mischief and institutional vandalism.
