SUV snaps utility poke

UPPER SAUCON TWP., Pa. -

Police in Lehigh County say speed was likely a factor in a crash that snapped a utility pole.

It happened just before 1:30 a.m. Monday on South Pike Avenue in Upper Saucon Twp.

Police say a 39-year-old man lost control of his Jeep and snapped both a pole and a UGI gas line into a home.

The driver was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Twp. with moderate injuries.

Police say charges are pending.

PPL crews were back on the scene Monday morning, working to repair the pole.
