EASTON, Pa. -

Police in Easton say they are investigating an incident which occurred at about 7:30p.m. on May 1, when they say, an officer came upon a man in the areas of Third & Larry Holmes Dr. with blood on his hands and legs.

Police initially thought the man had been stabbed so he was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

However, on further investigation, police realized the man's injuries stemmed from an incident that happened a short time before at the Quality Inn on South Third street.

Easton police thus served a search warrant to that room to further investigate.

They recovered evidence in the room in connection with drug-related activity, according to police.

The injured man at that point refused cooperating with police and would not provide additional information needed to further the investigation into what or who caused his injuries.

Despite that fact, police are currently  proceeding with the investigation.

They promise that at the end any culpable individual will face charges for his or her role in the matter.

Police said in a statement that, "Based upon what is known to us right now, this was not a random act and the general public is not at risk because of this incident."

No name of anyone involved in the matter has been revealed at this point.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Leauber at 610-250-6780 or the Easton Police Department tip line at 610-250-6635.
