A 19-year-old Lehigh County man is accused of attacking a driver inside his car -- while he was driving.

ALLENTOWN, PA. -

A 19-year-old Lehigh County man was arrested after allegedly punching and attempting to stab another man along I-78.

State Police say the incident happened recently on I-78 eastbound at the Cedar Crest Boulevard exit.

Police say Brandon Diburt was in a passenger's seat of a vehicle when he punched the driver several times, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The driver was able to pull over safely while two other passengers held him back.

Diburt then pulled out a knife and attempted to stab the driver, according to police.

Police say Diburt walked away. He was apprehended by police in the parking lot of Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest.

He was charged with aggravated assault.
