A 45-year-old Lehigh County man is accused of taking nearly $6,000 from a Northampton County non-profit that provides care for people with special needs, while he worked there as an administrator.

Daniel R. Pluchinsky stole $5,800 from bank accounts while working as an administrator/coordinator for Lifepath in Hanover Twp., Northampton Co., Colonial Regional police said Wednesday.

Pluchinsky, of Catasauqua, admitted to taking money for at least six months to pay off personal debts, according to court documents.

Pluchinsky told authorities he took the cash from accounts set up through Lifepath to pay for clients' burial expenses, according to court documents.

Pluchinsky was charged with theft by failure to make required disposition of funds. He was arraigned in district court and released on $7,500 bail.
