Bethlehem Township police have charged a man accused of fleeing the scene of an accident after he allegedly cut off a tractor trailer that ended up overturning and crashing into a home, narrowly missing a woman and her baby.
Steven Vazquez-Rosado, 25, of the 600 block of Berwick Street in Easton, is facing multiple charges in connection with the wreck that happened Thursday afternoon in the area of Freemansburg Avenue and Willow Park Road.
Vazquez-Rosado turned himself in Thursday night, according to police. His charges include leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended license.
Police said Vazquez-Rosado took full responsibility for the wreck and told officers he accidentally cut off the truck while following his GPS system to make a turn.
After being cut off, the truck lost control, crossed a yard and crashed into the front of a house on Freemansburg Avenue, officials said.
The accident was reported at 4:15 p.m. Thursday.
It was a close call for a woman and her baby inside the house.
The truck narrowly missed a woman and her three-and-a-half month-old daughter who were just beyond the front door when the wreck happened.
Officials said no one was injured in the wreck.
