You've seen ads inside city buses for years, but how about in school buses? One Lehigh County district has debuted its first interior school bus ad.

Parkland School District in South Whitehall Township decided to sell advertising for inside school buses as a way to add much-needed revenue for the district.

The ad's message discourages texting while driving.

The first ad was installed Tuesday, and is for Debora L. Sigler Insurance, a local Allstate agent with offices in Allentown and Hellertown.

“We are very excited to be part of the Parkland School District bus program. Our message ties into the overall national focus of educating all drivers, with a focus on our youth, to not text while driving. By placing our signs in the school buses, we are hoping to spread the word, while building awareness of our agency to local drivers.

The ad will run through October, according to school officials.
