A man is in trouble with the law for sending his girlfriend a text message threatening to kill her, officials said.
Oneil A. Latchman sent a text to his girlfriend from his cell phone saying "If you call the police I will kill you" at about 7:45 a.m. Sunday, officials said.
The recipient of the menacing text, who shares an apartment with Lachtman in the 2300 block of Forest Street, Wilson, Northampton Co., told police she and Latchman were involved in a domestic dispute when she received the message, officials said.
The woman was upset, crying and in fear for her life when she spoke with police, officials noted.
Latchman, 31, was charged with making terroristic threats and harassment and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $50,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 17.
