A New York man entered his ex-girlfriend's home while she was sleeping and threatened to "poke" her with a knife after he had climbed on top of her, officials said.
Jamel R. Clark made the threat while holding a black-handled kitchen-type knife to the side of his ex when she awoke around 2:50 a.m. Tuesday in her home in the 1100 block of Pine Street in Easton, officials said.
The woman told police that Clark had been a boyfriend of hers about seven years ago and that he threatened to "poke" her if she was not honest with him, officials noted.
The woman called her son into the room to help calm the situation, but Clark responded by saying,"I will make this ugly in front of the kids," officials said.
Court papers do not give the son's age.
Police found Clark holding the knife near the woman and her son when they arrived, officials added.
Clark, 29, of Brooklyn, was charged with aggravated and simple assault, harassment, reckless endangerment, criminal trespass and making terroristic threats and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $60,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 27.
