A noisy burglar was caught by the man whose apartment he was trying to break into, officials said.
Justin M. Timko was caught by Thomas McCue coming in through the bathroom window of his second-floor apartment in the 100 block of East Main St., Bath, Northampton Co., early Monday morning, officials said.
McCue held Timko until police arrived, officials noted.
McCue found Timko in his bathroom after he heard a noise and went to investigate, officials said, adding that Timko had removed a window screen before entering the unlocked window.
Police also found broken windows at the front and rear of an adjacent building at 110 East Main St., and noted that Timko had a cut right hand when he was arrested, officials said.
Overall, Timko caused more than $1,000 in damage, officials said.
Timko, 24, of 909 Upper Middle Creek Road, Kunkletown, Monroe Co., was arraigned on charges of burglary, attempt to commit burglary, criminal trespass, and criminal mischief and committed to he Northampton County Prison on $150,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 11 a.m. Dec.16.
