The sounds of prayer filled the air in Allentown on Thursday.
Folks gathered at 7th and Hamilton streets to celebrate the 62nd annual National Day of Prayer.
The event featured music, various speakers and silent reflection, and it wrapped up with a citywide prayer walk.
Organizers said it's a great way for people of all faiths to come together to pray for the community.
"It's a place that we can actually come together, many different denominations that are here today because we all are desiring something better for our city and something better for the next generation," said Rev. Kari Holmes.
National Prayer Day is held every year on the first Thursday in May.
