BETHLEHEM TWP., Pa. -

A man who twice shoplifted a portable air conditioner from a department store is cooling his heels in jail, officials said.

Jacob J. Csilinko was caught walking out of the Walmart at 3929 Nazareth Pike, Bethlehem Township, Northampton Co., with a $299 Haier air conditioner he did not pay for at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, officials said.

Csilinko was identified through store surveillance as the man who stole a $419 Haier portable air conditioner last Monday, officials said.

Csilinko told police he stole the air conditioners to support his heroin habit, officials said.

Csilinko, 22, of 6255 Sullivan Trail, Plainfield Township, Northampton Co., was arraigned on a charge of retail theft in connection with Saturday's incident and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $5,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 10 a.m. June 26.
