A man was arrested for the latest in a series of threats he has made against his girlfriend, officials said.

Christopher J. Gable told his girlfriend during a phone call around 6:30 p.m. Monday not to come back to the apartment they share in the 800 block of Main Street in Hellertown, Northampton Co., "or you're ... dead. I will ... kill you," officials said.

Police were called to the apartment by the woman around 7:45 p.m. because she feared Gable would act on his threats, and they found her crying and shaking when they arrived, officials noted.

The woman said Gable was abusive towards her verbally and physically throughout their relationship, and that one time Gable threatened to stab her in the head with a knife, officials said.

Police confirmed that Gable and the woman have been involved in numerous domestic disputes, officials said.

Gable, 48, was charged with making terroristic threats, assault and harassment and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $15,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 11 a.m. Dec. 27.
