Man, distracted by fireworks, discovers he's been shot

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

A man walked himself to the hospital Thursday night with a gunshot wound, police said.

Allentown police said a man walked into Lehigh Valley Hospital at 17th and Chew streets around 11 p.m., claiming he'd been shot.

The man was suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.

The man later told police he was walking home after viewing fireworks and heard a loud noise, thinking it was a firework, but then he discovered he'd been shot.

The victim's wounds are not considered life-threatening.

Police are continuing their investigation.
