Man calls police for robbery, police find marijuana

A group in Ohio needs 300,000 signatures to put an amendment to a vote in November that would allow the legal consumption of marijuana for medical and recreational use. An Allentown man called police to report a robbery and home invasion, but didn't expect to be arrested himself.

Police said 54-year-old Daniel Lyles called police around 3:15 a.m. Thursday to report the crime at his home at 426 Chestnut Street.

When they arrived, Lyles gave police permission to conduct a search of the home.

During the search, police said they found a substantial quantity of suspected marijuana in Lyles' bedroom closet, and more in the home that was packaged to sell in hundreds of small baggies.

Lyles was charged with possession with intent to deliver and drug paraphernalia,

He was taken to Lehigh County Prison after being unable to post $15,000 bail.
