It started with a Craigslist ad and ended in a homicide; now a Reading man accused of killing a Lehigh County business owner will face a jury.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

A Reading man accused of killing a Lehigh County business owner was in court Thursday.

Twenty-seven-year-old Tyrell Young is charged with the shooting death of 41-year-old Eric Ervin at his Allentown car detailing business on April 8.

Police said Ervin met with Young, thinking Young was interested in buying a silver BMW he had listed on Craigslist.

But investigators said Young shot and killed Ervin inside the trailer parked outside his shop on Nelson Street.

Police found Young early the next morning in the 100 block of South Fourth Street in Reading, driving that same silver BMW.

He was formally charged with the murder in April.

Young also faces robbery, prohibited weapon possession and related charges.

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin has said he will seek a first degree murder conviction and possibly the death penalty.
