Dr. Ann D. Bieber, 57, has been named the new president of Lehigh Carbon Community College beginning July 1.
Bieber will be replacing form president Dr. Donald W. Snyder, who retired in December 2013.
Bieber served as interim president in Snyder's absence and had been with the college since 1981, serving as senior vice president of administrative services before acting as interim president.
She was a leader in the development of the college's three year strategic plan "Many Voices" while interim president.
“Dr. Bieber’s expertise in administration, in higher education and her student-centric approach to leadership will help guide Lehigh Carbon Community College to new levels of academic success,” Kenneth H. Mohr, Jr., chair of the Lehigh Carbon Community College Board of Trustees, said in a statement.
Bieber is a Lehigh Valley native who got her undergraduate degree at Cedar Crest College. She went on to get a master's from Kutztown University and a doctorate from Capella University.
LCCC conducted a national search with the help of Greenwood/Asher and Associates executive search firm.
A formal approval of Bieber by the LCCC Board of Trustees is expected at their June 5 public meeting.
