A man who stole clothing from a department store with the help of friends was left holding several bags, officials said.
Glenn W. Lindsey was stopped with several shopping bags of stolen clothing he had not paid for as he walked out of the Kohl's store at 3768 Easton-Nazareth Highway, Lower Nazareth Township, Northampton County, around 3:10 p.m. Wednesday.
The clothing was worth $865.12, officials noted.
Lindsey was part of a group of three men and two women who stuffed clothing into the bags inside the store, but only he was carrying stolen merchandise when the group left the store.
A Kohl's security official told police Lindsey was the man who assaulted a loss prevention officer in Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, after a retail theft, officials said.
Court papers do not say when the previous incident happened, or what Lindsey allegedly shoplifted.
Lindsey, 28, of 639 Williams St., Bethlehem, was arraigned on a retail theft charge and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $30,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Sept. 2.
