Be extra careful if driving on Oxford Drive/S. 24th Street in Allentown Friday night.
Flaggers will be controlling traffic on both ends of the Oxford Drive bridge over Little Lehigh Creek, beginning at 8 p.m. Friday and continuing until at least 2 a.m. Saturday.
Drivers should be prepared for possible delays of five to seven minutes.
A rehabilitation project on the state-owned, 53-year-old bridge began June 13.
The temporary traffic restrictions were announced by Mike Moore, the city's communications coordinator.
Moore said the project's contractor has advised the city that the flaggers could be controlling traffic longer than 2 a.m. Saturday if bridge workers encounter delays.
