Anyone driving west on Route 22 from New Jersey to Pennsylvania may encounter traffic delays lasting up to 15 minutes between 10 p.m. Monday and 2 a.m. Tuesday.
The periodic traffic stoppages were announced Monday by the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission.
The delays will ensure the safety of workers who will be removing blockage from drainage scuppers along the westbound lane of the bridge, which spans the river between Phillipsburg and Easton.
"Motorists are encouraged to use extreme caution and allow extra time or use an alternate route," advised a commission spokesman.
Route 22 traffic already is restricted to a single lane in each direction until mid-December, as part of the Easton-Phillipsburg Toll Bridge Rehabilitation Project, which began in July.
More information on the project is available online.
