An Easton principal is suing the school district, alleging he was demoted after bringing a complaint against another administrator.

Stephen Furst, of Schnecksville, Lehigh Co., filed a lawsuit against the Easton Area School District and the Easton Area Board of Education on Thursday.

Furst had been director of teaching and learning for K-12 in the Easton Area School District's central administration office in July 2009.

According to court documents, Furst suspected a fellow employee, then district director of technology Thomas Drago, was inappropriately accessing his laptop in October 2012, and Furst reported it to his supervisor.

A subsequent investigation revealed Drago had accessed Furst's computer 730 times and downloaded pornographic images on his school district computer.

Drago resigned in January 2013.

In June 2013, Furst was demoted to middle school principal and believes he is the only member of the administration who didn't receive a raise for the 2012-2013 school year.

Furst is asking for back salary increases and pension benefits, as well as reinstatement in his former central administrative position.

The district has not commented on the lawsuit.
