Police are investigating reports of a suspicious vehicle near a playground in the 1100 block of Spring Garden Street in Easton.
Police were advised the vehicle was seen near the playground between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Monday.
A woman told police she was at the playground with her five-year-old daughter when an unknown male drove into the area.
When the woman's daughter walked into the parking lot, the male motioned to her to come closer to his vehicle.
The child did not enter the vehicle and the suspect left the area without saying anything.
The mother told police that other children reported the same vehicle had been observed in the area previously and that the man in it possibly was offering candy to children.
Police have not been able to corroborate that statement.
It was also reported that the same vehicle was observed multiple times in the past two weeks between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. near a bus stop at 15th and Washington streets.
The suspect is described as a white male who is in his 40s or 50s. He has salt and pepper hair and a full beard. He was reportedly operating a blue Cherokee.
Anybody with any information is asked to call city detectives at 610-250-6667 or the Easton Police tip line at 610-250-6635. Callers can remain anonymous.
