The Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) has announced that County Seat Spirits will soon call Allentown home.

The distillery will manufacture whiskeys, vodka, gin and rum. There are also plans for a a tasting room and distillery tours.

“The market for high quality spirits is strong and should remain so for the foreseeable future,” said John Rowe, co-founder of County Seat Spirits. “The timing is right for us to get established in a growing industry and to be part of the revival of craft distilling in Pennsylvania.”

County Seat Spirits will join the AEDC's business incubation program, which is housed at the Bridgeworks Enterprise Center at at 905 Harrison St., later this year.

The business incubation program also includes a craft meadery, called The Colony Meadery, and a microbrewery, HiJinx Brewing Company.

The founders of County Seat Spirits will spend the next few months obtaining licenses and purchasing equipment for their space at the center. The AEDC will help the company navigate the regulations faster than it could on its own.

Over the past 25 years, the Bridgeworks Enterprise Center has helped launch more than 50 companies in Allentown.
