Fire hits Lehigh Co home

UPPER SAUCON TWP., Pa. -

Firefighters battled a 2-alarm fire in Lehigh County on Wednesday.

The fire broke out around 9 a.m. at 3419 Honeysuckle Rd. in Upper Saucon Township. That's off East Rock Road, near the Salisbury Township border.

No one was injured, and no one is currently living there. The home, however, was set to be put up for sale, with the real estate photos set to be taken Wednesday.

The fire started in the converted barn under the floor boards, damaging the floor and ceiling before it could be contained, investigators said.

The stone side of the home is an A-frame and was not damaged, according to fire officials.

A work crew had been sanding the hardwood floor over the past few days. One worker told officials he opened the door Wednesday morning and was met with smoke and then called the fire department.

Investigators have not determined what sparked the fire.
