FORK TWP., Pa. -

The Forks Township Board of Supervisors granted a land development approval to a new business during Thursday night's meeting.

The Alfero Construction Company received preliminary and final approval to relocate their construction business into the township and construct a 26,000 square-foot warehouse and garage on Glover Road.

In other business, the board authorized Police Chief Greg Dorney's recommendation to hire Andrew Janusz as the newest member of the force. By hiring the 25-year-old, the township now has a total of 21 officers on active patrol. Janusz, most recently employed in South Whitehall Township, is a graduate of Easton Area High School, earned a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Wiedner University, and is certified from the Allentown Police Academy, according to Dorney.

And the board also approved the appointment of Judy Presto Arnold to the Recreation Board. Arnold, who was at the meeting, informed supervisors that she has been a resident of the township since 1980, and has raised three children who were active in the township's recreation activities. She replaces Ed Moore, who was appointed to the board of supervisors.
