A man was found with two kinds of drugs after he used a bat to smash the window of his SUV and bang on the windows of a home he shared with his girlfriend, officials said.
Charles Rogers had a small bag of marijuana and a bag of 35 anti-anxiety pills when police searched him at 11:40 p.m. Thursday, after he smashed the driver's side window of his Chevy Blazer and banged on the windows of his and his girlfriend's home in the 600 block of Ramblewood Lane, Freemansburg, Northampton Co., officials said.
Police were first called to the home by Rogers' girlfriend just after 10 p.m., but Rogers had left by the time they arrived, officials said.
When she called for police to return about an hour later because she feared for her safety, officers found Rogers with glassy eyes, smelling of alcohol and slurring his speech, officials said.
Rogers, 34, was arraigned early Friday morning on charges of assault, drug possession, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $7.500 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. May 17.
