ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

Following "an extensive investigation," the deaths of four people in the March apartment fire in Emmaus have been ruled accidental.

The Lehigh County Coroner's Office reports that the victims died from "thermal injuries and smoke inhalation."

The victims were Lena Adamo, 56, David Jenkins, 65, Melissa Twining, 48, and Montana Twining, 16.

The results of the investigation were reported Tuesday.

The fire occurred on March 17.

A few days after the tragedy, investigators said the fire was not suspicious. And the coroner's office reported autopsies conducted on all the victims showed they died from smoke inhalation and burns.

The coroner's office conducted the just-completed investigation with the Emmaus Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police – Troop M Fire Marshal Bureau and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms, with the assistance of the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.

The investigators did not review the cause of the fire.
