Building evacuated after gas line struck in Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM TWP., Pa. -

Employees in a building in Northampton County were evacuated after a crew hit a gas line Thursday morning.

The incident happened around 10:50 a.m. at 2801 Baglyos Circle in Bethlehem Township.

The building is the home of Strahman Valves, Inc.

It's located in the Lehigh Valley Industrial Park VI.

UGI officials said a forklift working inside the building severed an inside fuel line.

Fire crews had evacuated the building and shut off the gas flow valve before UGI arrived.

Workers were allowed to re-enter the building.
