Allentown shooting

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

Allentown police are investigating a bizarre shooting incident in which a New Jersey man says he was sitting on apartment steps when he realized he had been suddenly shot multiple times.

It happened just before midnight Friday in the 200 block of North 8th Street.

Officials say 21-year-old Joseph F. Lozada of Bloomfield, N.J. told police he was sitting on steps outside his cousin's apartment using a cellphone when suddenly he heard gunshots and realized he had been shot multiple times.

Police say Lozada was transported in a personal vehicle to St. Luke's Hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Police say he sustained gunshot wounds to his shoulder, forearm, leg and torso.

Lozada had no description of the person or persons who shot him, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Allentown police.
