Bangor incident leads to animal cruelty charge

A New Jersey man has been charged with animal cruelty after leaving his pit bull unattended in a hot car for several hours, according to police.

Police say the incident happened Friday afternoon in the Market Street parking lot. There was no food or water in the car, according to police.

Richard A. Lawson, 31, of Fords, New Jersey, was issued citations for cruelty to animals and having an unlicensed and un-vaccinated dog.
